Processing & Barge Loading

processing & barge loading The Kelanis facilities are located on the Barito River, where deep water of up to 18m is available with river widths from this point to the river mouth averaging more than 400 meters.

Coal delivered to the Kelanis facilities by the road trains is discharged into one of five dumps stations. Coal is crushed through multiple two stage crushing systems and is then conveyed by overhead conveyors to 200,000 tonne capacity stockpiles. Coal reclaim and barge loading is carried out by bulldozers pushing coal onto underground reclaim conveyors which feed the coal onto the fixed barge loading conveyors at two berths.

The existing facilities have a production throughput of 42 million tonnes per year which are in the process of being expanded to meet production increases with the installation of additional crushing capacity in Phase I and complete new crushing, stockpiling and bargeloading facility in Phase II.
